(26 November 1878 – 21 June 1932)Marshall Walter "Major" Taylor, he is an Afro-American athlete who achieved the level of world champion and the second colored athlete to win a world championship after Canadian boxer George Dixon. He won the world one-mile track cycling championship in 1899 and overcoming racial discrimination issued.
